Residents invited to contractor events ahead of major A614/A6097 junction improvement works
Residents and road users are being invited to attend two public drop-in events ahead of major improvement works at Lowdham Roundabout and Kirk Hill Junction, which form part of the wider A614/A6097 Major Road Network Scheme in Nottinghamshire.
The long-planned scheme is designed to improve journeys along one of Nottinghamshire’s key transport corridors by reducing congestion, improving road safety and supporting stronger connections for residents, businesses and public transport.
At Lowdham Roundabout, the programme will support improvements to the roundabout layout and its approaches, while works at Kirk Hill Junction will include changes to the junction layout together with measures such as a new Pegasus crossing, bridleway and landscaping to improve access and safety for a range of road users.
The events will give residents an opportunity to learn more about the construction programme, expected timings and key delivery stages, and to speak directly with the contractors and project representatives from Via East Midlands.
The first drop-in event will focus on Lowdham Roundabout and will be held on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, from 6pm to 9pm at the Southwell Road Community Building, off Old Tannery Drive, Lowdham, NG14 7PS. The event will be supported by contractor Galliford Try.
A second event, focusing on Kirk Hill Junction, will take place on Thursday, 4 June 2026, from 6pm to 9pm at East Bridgford Village Hall, Main Street, East Bridgford, Nottingham, NG13 8NH. Residents will be able to meet representatives involved in the scheme, including contractor Danaher and Walsh.
Councillor Bert Bingham, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment at Nottinghamshire County Council, said:
“The A614/A6097 scheme is a long-planned improvement programme along a key corridor through Nottinghamshire and these events are an important opportunity for residents to find out more about the next phase of delivery.
“The improvements at Lowdham Roundabout and Kirk Hill Junction will help us move closer to providing safer, more reliable journeys, while also supporting local communities, businesses and connectivity across the county. I would encourage anyone who would like to know more about the works to come along and speak to the project team.”
More drop-in events for the remaining junction upgrades will be announced soon.
