A614 scheme: Ollerton meet the contractor event announced

Residents, businesses and motorists are invited to meet the contractors who will be making improvements to Ollerton roundabout at an event taking place later this month.

The improvements, which are part of the A614/A6097 major road network scheme, will be delivered by Galliford Try on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council and Via East Midlands and will include reshaping the roundabout to increase the size and widening approaches and exits to reduce congestion.

New pedestrian crossings will be installed on Old Rufford Road and Mansfield Road and lighting, signage and road markings will also upgraded to improve road safety.

Residents and businesses in Ollerton and motorists who use the route are invited to attend an in-person event on Thursday 29 October between 6pm and 9pm at Ollerton Jubilee Hall, Wellow Road, NG22 9AP.

The event will give attendees an opportunity to learn more about the construction programme, the timings of different phases and speak directly with the contractors and project representatives from Via East Midlands and Galliford Try.

Councillor Bert Bingham, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “Improvements are already underway as part of the A614/A6097 scheme at Kirk Hill in East Bridgford and Lowdham roundabout and we’re pleased to be bringing a significant update to residents in Ollerton about the long-awaited improvements to Ollerton roundabout.

“We know that residents and motorists have been waiting for these improvements for some time and I would encourage residents, local businesses and motorists to come along to the meet the contractor event to find out more about the works and speak to the project team.

“These events are important to hear feedback from local people and we will make sure that questions raised at this event are published online as part of our Ollerton roundabout frequently asked questions.

“I would also encourage residents, motorists and local businesses to sign up to the A614/A6097 WhatsApp channel and email newsletter to keep up to date on the scheme.”
