Over 99% of children have received an offer for one of their preferred primary schools
Today thousands of families in Nottinghamshire have received confirmation of where their child will be starting school in September.
This year more than 95% of Nottinghamshire children were offered their parents’ first preference school for a reception place this year. That is 7590 out of a total 7917 that applied on time for a reception school place, with over 99% securing a place in one of their preferred schools.
Parents who applied on time using the online portal were able to log on to their account to view the outcome from midnight on offer day, 16 April. All other parents who provided an email address, will be sent an email throughout the day on 16 April.
All parents who did not provide an email address should expect to receive their outcome by second class post. Those who are happy with the school place they have been offered have until 29 April to accept their offer.
Councillor Simon Wright, Cabinet Member for Education and SEND, said: “We know going to school is a big step for families and children, so it is great that 7892 of parents have received an offer for one of their preferred schools for their child starting in September.
“Our admissions team works hard to ensure that the majority of children and families are offered a preferred school wherever possible.
“For parents and guardians looking for more information, I’d encourage them to take a look at our admissions hub online to help answer any questions they have about what happens next.”
